Hello everyone. I want to share how my passion for skincare started. I have had eczema since I was 14 but it was only on my arms. As a I grew up and got married, adulthood came into full force. The eczema flare ups started on my face, on my upper lip and around my eyes. The doctors would prescribe steroids which can cause thinning of the skin making them harmful in the long run. So I took matters in my own hands and I started researching for decent eye creams. During my research I came across Caroline Hirons website and I was amazed at her knowledge. During these years, there’s one product that really stood out to me and it soon became my Holy Grail skincare treatment. Its the Liquid Gold by Alpha H, an Australian Skincare brand.
What is it?
Its an overnight, leave on liquid peel that promises to revitalise and assist in firming the skin. It reduces the visibility of scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, blackheads and pigmentation (phew, thats alot of claims) leaving your skin luminous and bright.
What is in it?
It contains 5% Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, silk protein and licorice extract.
What does it do?
Glycolic acid is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid that exfoliates and removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells, revealing bright and rejuvenated skin. It lowers the skin pH from 5.5 to 3 which stimulates cellular activity and makes the skin cells work super hard to repair and renew skin. The silk proteins and licorice extract help plump and hydrate the skin and you wake up with a glow. This treatment works wonders on acne, acne scars, blemishes and pigmentation as it resurfaces the skin and makes it more even toned and bright. It also works beautifully on dry, dehydrated, sensitive and eczema prone skin, which is what my skin type is so I speak from experience. Its like gold for your skin and I have recommended this to so many of my family members and friends, men and women both who have loved the results. This overnight treatment is so effective that you’ll start to see results from the first application onward. I call it Magic in a bottle.
How do I use this?
Cleanse your face and moisten a cotton pad with the Liquid Gold. Wipe the cotton pad on all your face, neck and decolletage, avoiding eye area and lips. If you want an intensive treatment, don’t apply a night cream on top of this. However I have very dry skin so I prefer to apply my moisturizer on dry areas of my face. A word of warning, always apply SPF if you use any resurfacing products such as the Liquid Gold.
I use this treatment on alternate days. Also if your skin isn’t used to acids, then it may tingle when you start using this but that settles down soon.
