This year has gone by so fast and it’s leaving us with so many memories to cherish! I was blessed to have had the opportunity to try so many new skincare brands, some that I bought myself and some that were gifted. So here is my list of best skincare products of 2019. These shortlisted products are a mix of skincare products that I’ve used and loved over the year. I would most definitely purchase them and highly recommend them to those looking for effective skincare products.
Freshly Cosmetics Hyper Concentrate Eye Contour Serum
I discovered this brand very recently and I fell in love with this eye serum in the first couple of days of use which hardly ever happens. Everyone needs this serum! Its hydrating, soothing, reduces puffiness and brightens the eye area. I had the worst case of an eczema flare up on my eyes when I started applying the serum morning and night and in just a few days I saw a huge difference in my eye area. The puffiness had gone down, skin felt hydrated and the wrinkles were massively reduced. This is an absolute must have!
Sukin Original Hydrating Mist Toner
Even though I love my acid toners, the addition of retinol in my skincare routine plus cold weather and heating can have a harsh effect on the skin. This hydrating toner does what it says! It provides a boost of hydration to the skin and it contains no alcohol or parabens so its very gentle on the skin. Its very affordable too so a must have in any skincare routine. I apply it after acid toners, before and after hyaluronic acid serums or through out the day. It has a beautiful fine mist that doesn’t disturb makeup.
Beautypie Super Retinol Ceramide Boost Anti-aging Face Serum
This retinol serum is a very gentle addition of retinol in any skincare routine. If you are confused about where and what retinol product to start with, this is perfect! The formula is very gentle, it didn’t cause any irritation on my extremely sensitive skin. It absorbs beautifully and provides a gentle dose of retinol with regular use.
Beauty Pie Triple Hyaluronic and Peptide Serum
An absolute treat to use on dry skin! It contains hyaluronic acid, peptides and ceramides to intensely hydrate and repair skin barrier. When I over do my acids, this is a life saver! I apply it after a hydrating toner and it leaves my skin hydrated, soft and glowing.
Drunk Elephant Marula Oil
This is a gorgeous lightweight oil brimming with antioxidants and omegas. It calms down any redness or irritation, hydrates my skin when its feeling dry and leaves it super nourished. Its not too heavy on the skin so apply it at night and wake up to nourished, glowing skin.
Antipodes Divine Face Oil
An absolutely amazing oil that feels truly divine on the skin. It contains natural and organic Roship oil and avocado from New Zealand. Its so nourishing and hydrating making it perfect for winters. A few drops go a long way and it almost provides instant nourishment. My skin feels so soft and hydrated as soon as I apply this oil. Its great for dry, eczema prone skin types that need a boost of nourishment to the skin.
Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream
Antipodes was one of my favourite brands this year which is why two of their products made it to my list of best skincare products of 2019. This Hydrating day cream is a lovely, slightly thicker texture. I have very dry skin and I find most day creams will absorb really quickly but also leave a tight feeling to the skin so then I go in with another rich texture cream which kind of defeats the purpose of the first one. But the Antipodes Hydrating cream absorbs nicely and also leaves the skin well hydrated. Its moisturises any dry patches so makeup doesn’t cling to them.
Alpha H Liquid Gold
If you follow me on Instagram, this product definitely needs no introduction. Its a skincare treatment that you apply after cleansing and leave overnight waking up to gorgeous, glowing skin. Every single person needs this product in their skincare routine. It will sort out any blemishes, spots, reduce scarring and hyper pigmentation. This product will give you glowing, radiant skin! The liquid gold has made my list of best skincare products of 2019 and It will most definitely make the list every year because its one of those cant-without-products. Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3
I had been using low dose retinol on and off but I wanted to move to a slightly higher strength and I decided to try this brand. Needless to say this retinol is genuinely amazing. Its in a cream form, causes no irritation to my eczema prone skin, there is no peeling after use either. They do different strengths so I aim to finish this and move to a higher strength retinol. Overall its a great brand and I am so tempted to try other products too especially Vitamin C.
Origins Drink Up Overnight Intensive Mask
This face mask is a constant repurchase for so many years. Its like water for my thirsty, parched, dehydrated skin! If you want a hydrating mask then look no further because this baby is hydrating, nourishing and calming. I slather it on at night and wake up to baby soft, nourished skin.
La Roche Posay Cicaplast Lip Balm
I’ve only discovered this lip balm a few months ago and honestly where has this been hiding! I have tried a gazillion lip balms over the years but I haven’t been satisfied. My lips just like my skin are constantly dry and chapped and majority of the other lip balms dry them out even more. There is a constant need to reapply but not with Cicaplast. This lip balm will repair the barrier of your lips and actually fix the problem. Its been a life saver in winters and honestly I would always have one in my stash.
So there you have it, the best skincare products of 2019 that have been loved and most used by me this year.
